Pricing

I want money, lots and lots of money

Quoting a price for your project is easy, once I know what you’re thinking. For an honest to goodness realistic quote, please talk to me, otherwise keep reading for some good information and probably a migraine.

Development costs, now with more Algebra!

Formula: task * time(complexity * effort) * rate = price

  • Task is the goal to be completed.
  • Time is the value of complexity multiplied by effort in hours.
    • Complexity is a three point scale; 1 being easy or ideal circumstances and taking the normal amount of time, 3 being fairly complex taking 3x the normal amount of time.
    • Effort is ideal amount of time in hours it would take to complete the task.
  • Rate is $80 per hour, respectively.

Example

  1. 1 mock-up * time(1*5 hours) * $80 = $400
  2. 1 transfer from mock to code * time(1*4 hours) * $80 = $360
  3. 1 browser compatibility test * time(1*5 hours) * $80 = $400
  4. 1 search engine optimize * time(1*3 hours) * $80 = $240
  5. Total: $400 + $360 + 400 + 240 = $1500

Wrap it up!

Hopefully this helps shed a little light on the dark and dismal world of quoting prices. Heck, I’d do this for free if you’d pay all my bills!
